I went to Sunflower Market and found another healthy alternative to milk (yay!)

Flaxmilk! Warning: I looked at the labels for Original and Vanilla.. Don’t buy either one; stick to unsweetened. It’s easy to see that the drink is called Flaxmilk and call it healthy, then fail to realize that 8 oz carries 8g of sugar.

I, myself, am going to stick to almond and coconut milk. But I wouldn’t mind drinking it again. My only issue is that there’s not much flavoring. It kind of tastes like water.

But on a different note, I made an AMAZING omlette the past few days (in a row). I’d love to share my recipe.

Chop vegetables such as mushrooms, zucchini, yellow squash, onion, and potato and sauté them in a pan using coconut oil.
Meanwhile, mix 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar, 4 egg whites, and 1/4 cup milk alternative into a bowl.
Pour egg white mix into another pan and let cook. When halfway finished, put ham on one side. When almost completely finished, I shredded yogurt cheese and threw it on one side. When completely done, put cooked vegetables on omlette. Enjoy :)
I also made hash browns to enjoy with it by cheese grating potatoes and frying them in coconut oil.

Be healthy! You’ll feel better.

Pancakes CAN be healthy and extremely delicious. This is by far the best pancake recipe I have ever came across- never going back to Bisquick. Forget it.
1/2 cup oatmeal1/2 cup cottage cheese 4 egg whites 1 tablespoon vanilla extract Then I just threw in flax and wheat germ Blend in a blender or food processor then poor into pan. Yum! I know.. These ingredients sound disgusting, but I just had three pancakes and want more.

My biggest apologies! I’ve been slackin on this blog for the past two weeks. Grandma came into town, have been working a lot, and have someone special in my life now :) but no excuses!
I decided I will consistently run. I’m on day two and it sucks. I’ll let you know how this goes.

BUT I did perfect making a protein milkshake. It’s way more simple than I was making it.

1 scoop whey protein
1 1/2 cup ice
1 cup coconut milk or almond milk in original
1 banana

MMMMMMMM! I’m drinking one now.

Dr. Oz’s 10 Commandments of Weight Loss

This is awesome! And pretty hilarious. Much love, Oz:

1. Thou Shalt Not Wear Pants that Stretch

Your clothing is an early-warning system for weight gain. When it’s getting hard to snap your jeans, you know it’s time to be vigilant. Wearing stretchy clothes allows you to live in ignorance of how your body is growing, making it easier to pack on pounds without knowing it.

2. Thou Shalt Not Keep Fat Clothes in Your Closet

When you keep the clothes you wore at an unhealthy weight, it gives you a back-up plan if the pounds don’t come off. Instead, force yourself to stay on track by 86ing your “fat pants.”

3. Thou Shalt Not Eat Meat That Walks on Four Legs More Than Once a Week

Meat that comes from an animal with 4 legs is higher in saturated fat (the unhealthy kind) than that which comes from 2-legged animals such as chickens, or animals with no legs, like fish. Plus: women who eat large amounts of red meat more than once a week have a 50% higher chance of dying from heart disease and have higher cancer rates.

4. Thou Shalt Not Graze

Plan your meal before you open the refrigerator, get what you need, and close the door. Opening it throughout the day leads to impulsive choices and overeating.

5. Thou Shalt Not Eat After 7:30pm

When you eat late at night you are more likely to be eating in front of the TV (when you won’t pay attention to how much you’re putting in your mouth) and you’re more likely to pick high-calorie snacks.

6. Thou Shalt Not Pile Food More than 1 Inch High or Within 2 Inches of the Plate Edge

Larger portions equal more calories. ‘Nuff said.

7. Thou Shalt Not Chew Food Less than 20 Times Per Bite

Chewing allows your body to realize that you are eating food, prompting it to create a sensation of fullness at the appropriate time. When you don’t chew enough, you get ahead of that process, eating well past when you are actually satisfied.

8. Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbor’s Plate

Spend your day nibbling bites on someone else’s sandwich or afternoon snack, and you will add on 1,000 calories easy.

9. Thou Shalt Not Carry Small Bills

Nothing loves a small bill better than a vending machine. When you have them at the ready, you are one step closer to an impulsive, calorie-loaded afternoon slip up.

10. Thou Shalt Not Eat While Standing Up

Eating sitting down enables you to be aware of what you’re eating and eat it slowly so that your body can tell you your full before it’s too late.

Got off work early today and made myself a delicious salad! Honestly, I don’t like salad, and I don’t like dressing. Too plain for me.
BUT I splurged at Sunflower Market yesterday (awesome deals!) and bought some bags of spinach. So I threw some raw spinach in a bowl, cooked up some chicken, yellow squash, and asparagus and mixed it all together. Lastly, topped it off with feta cheese. Healthy, filling, and delicious!

Made another wonderful breakfast! It’s fun to have myself and my aunt to cook for, she is always honest about how my food turns out. My pancakes were fabuloussssss! I got the general idea from a website and added on my own healthy twist to it.Want to learn how to make these banana almond pancakes? Good.
Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour 1 cup quick or rolled oats1 cup flaxseed 1 tablespoon baking powder dash of salt 1 egg 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 tablespoon honey 2 cups almond milk (use less if you want them thicker) 1 banana, diced Cooking spray for pan A handful of almonds 1 banana, sliced
Directions
To start, I put my oats and flax in the blender to make them fine. I prefer my pancakes to be less chunky.
In a bowl, mix the flour, oats, flax, baking powder, salt, egg, cinnamon, and honey. Stir in the almond milk to the desired consistency. Stir in the bananas.
Place a skillet on medium heat (I use a square-shaped griddle). After spraying the pan, pour batter into 4-inch diameter circles (using about 1/4 cup of batter).
While the pancakes are cooking, hand chop the almonds on a cutting board with a sharp knife (or buy the slivered almonds).
Top pancakes with sliced bananas and chopped almonds. They’re delicious like this, but I poured 100% maple syrup over mine to make them extra delicious :)

So nice to have the night off to just relax… My friend Steph helped me to discover my new favorite snack! Frozen mango chunks. It’s like ice cream to me! You should try it.And my newly rediscovered favorite snack is frozen grapes. I used to eat them all the time when I was young and forgot how much I loved them!

Bought a case of 4 for 5 bucks at Sunflower Market! Gosh I love that place. This cream soda consists of purified carbonated water, Stevia extract, vanilla extract, natural flavors, and spices. This is my new preserative-free, caffeine-free, sugar-free, and guilt-free pleasure :) They also have different flavors of awesomeness!

I am so super excited to continue Brazil Butt lift! I’m not exaggerating, 4 days of doing this program and I can already see and feel a difference. My legs feel tighter and my “bum bum” is definitely lifted. Something I really like I about this program is that it’s so fun and I actually look forward to doing it everyday. I’m thinking about double-timing it and doubling my workouts.
Also, a lot of the focus is also on abs and shoulders. A lot of the exercises my shoulders get more tired than my legs! Haha. It’s just the constant motion of holding them up which gets me.. But really, I’m continuing on weight lifting my upper body because summer dresses look way cuter on nice arms :)

And here I am at 1:31 am eating a potato… I deserve it. Good night!

Anonymous asked: With this whole Brazil butt-lift thing.. Before and after pictures?

Yes! I’ll post them bi-monthly. I took some pictures earlier this week. I mean, don’t expect a peep show, but you’ll get them :)

Good morning! I’m feeding myself with asparagus, egg whites, Ezekial bread w/ honey, PB, and bananas! So tastey!

So stoked to continue Brazil Butt Lift, then going for a run. Me run? Never before. Me running now? I’m planning on running a 5k on June 2 to start, and I need to start somewhere!

Honestly I’m not a fan of running at ALL, unless I’m playing a sport. But I’m only a few days in and I heard that running becomes addicting after a few weeks of persevering? Thoughts?

Much love!

Day 1

I postponed Brazil Butt Lift to tonight! Sorry it took so long, it’s been a busier week than planned. Anyways I am super excited about it already. The cool thing about it is that it provides different plans for different booties. I am doing the lift and shape program. It says this program is specifically for flat or “square” bottoms. I, by no means, have a small butt, but I do want mine to be more ummm.. bubbly? and lifted. So according to the results I wanted, I went according to the corresponding plan.

I can see how Leandro Carvalho can be a little bit annoying, but after having my fair share of workouts with Tony Horton (of P90x) and Pam “Blam”, I didn’t find him so annoying. I’d say he’s more encouraging than anything.

The background music really sets a good stage for feeling the workout. My first day I did Bum Bum and although not much cardio was incorporated, the music set a good tone to the lunges, calf, leg, and butt exercises. Latino vibes…

One thing that did shock me though was the length of the workout. Maybe it’s because I was actually enjoying myself, but the workout felt as if it was only 10 minutes, plus some stretching. I guess it could be a con considering, mentally, I feel as if I should’ve been more active. But physically, I don’t mind a short, intense workout :)

A big part of me is excited to feel that after-workout burn in the morning. It’s reassuring to know I kicked my own butt.

I’ll let you know how I’m feeling tomorrow. Some noticeable differences by the end of next week? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee! Good night!
